LanguageCert Test Structure (International ESOL)
The LanguageCert International ESOL qualification consists of a Written exam (Listening, Reading, Writing) and a separate Spoken exam (Speaking). They may be taken on the same day or within a set period, depending on scheduling at the test centre.
- Listening: About 4 parts with conversations, monologues, and everyday discussions. Typically around 30–40 questions in 35 minutes.
- Reading: Presents short texts and one longer text, with table completion, multiple choice, and meaning in context tasks.
- Focus: Understanding main ideas, specific details, opinions, and meaning in context from a range of text types and audio.
- Two Tasks: Typically one shorter response (email, letter) and one longer piece such as a report, article, or descriptive writing.
