Through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to the Department of Home Affairs, detailed data was obtained about Indian students going to Australia by state, and which English language tests they use.
Some Interesting Observations:
- Numbers from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are growing. Their combined numbers are more than double that of Gujarat.
- Punjab and Chandigarh still remain the regions that are sending the maximum number of students to Australia.
- The figures from UP have yielded interesting numbers; more than those from Tamil Nadu.
English Language Test Usage
The data also reveals the distribution of students appearing for each of the English Language Proficiency tests including IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, OET, CAE, etc.
Primary student visa applications were lodged offshore between 1 Jan 2017 and 3 May 2019 where applicant's country of citizenship is India.
Note: Figures are from a dynamic source and may be subject to variations. Residential address information is not investigated or verified and is as recorded in the systems at the time of lodgement.
